HSBC today announced the appointment of Desmond Kuang as Chief Investment Officer, Asia, HSBC Private Bank and Premier Wealth, effective 6 July 2026.
In his new role, Desmond will be responsible for developing regional investment strategies and themes across all asset classes for private banking and premier clients in the region, excluding Hong Kong. He is an active member in the bank's Global Investment Committee, a governance body which periodically analyses and develops asset allocation strategies for its clients.
Desmond brings 20 years of experience in the banking industry, having held a range of leadership positions across asset management and investment research sectors. Desmond is currently Chief Investment Officer, China and Interim Head of Wealth and Premier Solutions, China. He will continue in these roles until successors are appointed.
